Here are some factors that go in to the rental process that you should know when looking for a apartment.
Make sure you are looking for apartments within your means. Landlords want to see that your income is high enough that it will not be a problem for you to pay the rent each month. Landlords also want to see your credit report.
So you have made up your mind and decided that you want to take a certain apartment. You will now have to fill out a application. Here is a list of documents that you will need in order to complete the application:
- Recent pay-stubs 2 or 3
- W2
- Tax return
- Photo Id
- Copy of social security card
- Recent receipts
- Utility bill (gas, electric , or phone bill)
- Current bank statement
- Copy of current lease if you have
You might not need all these document depending on the apartment you choose.
Credit or income not good enough ? You do not have all the necessary documents? There still might be something you can do.
You can have someone that does meet these requirements act as your guarantor. That person will be responsible to the terms of the lease in the event that you are unable to.
